Position Overview

As a Crew Leader you will lead a team to various job sites throughout the week ensuring the job is done right on time and safely. You will be a subject matter expert providing guidance to the team and acting as a mentor for newer team members assisting them in developing a better understanding of the Arboriculture profession. You will also work to provide an exceptional customer experience as the main point of contact for our clients.

Job Duties

  • Safely and efficiently lead a crew in providingarboricultural care for our clients.
  • Directs crew members and equipment as well as planning and executing the assigned work and tasks.
  • Responsible to supervise and assist in the proper maintenance preparation and operation of all tools and equipment including hand tools chainsaws chippers and aerial lifts.
  • Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
  • Including but not limited to:
    • Pruning thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
    • Installation of cables bracing and lightning protection systems.
    • Removal of hazardous trees.
  • Provide expert tree trimming services and inspections to client properties.
  • Manage customer service expectations.
  • Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience as an Arborist.
  • ISA certification or certificate of enrollment in an arboriculture program or equivalent.
  • Valid provincial drivers license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement is considered an asset.
  • The ability to understand and safely direct a team on the process of safely ascending tree canopies at all heights.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Strong tree knot and shrub identification skills.

  • Superviser les membres de léquipe et léquipement ainsi que planifier et exécuter les travaux et les tâches assignés.
  • Responsable desupervision etdaiderà la maintenanceà la préparation et à lutilisation adéquats de tous les outils et équipements y compris les outils manuels les tronçonneuses les déchiqueteuses et les nacelles élévatrices.
  • Effectuer tous les aspects des services délagage et dabattage darbres de manière sécuritaire et professionnelle pour les clients incluant notamment :
    • Élagage éclaircissage et suppression du bois mort dans la canopée.
    • Installation de câblesdélingues et de systèmes de protection contre la foudre.
    • Abattage darbres dangereux.
  • Fournir des services délagage darbreset desinspectionsdarbresexpertes sur les propriétés des clients.
  • Gérer les attentes en matière de service à la clientèle.
  • Respecter les politiques et procédures de sécurité de Davey et de lindustrie.

Qualifications

  • Minimum de 2 ans dexpérience en tant quarboriste.
  • Certification ISA oucertificate dinscription à un programme darboriculture ou équivalent.
  • Permis de conduire provincial valide. La capacité de conduire un véhicule de 5 tonnes et une certification pour freins à air constituent un atout.
  • Capacité de comprendre et de diriger une équipe de façon sécuritaire lors de lascension des arbres à toutes hauteurs.
  • Capacité de soulever et transporter jusquà 50 lb.
  • Solides compétences en identification des arbres des nœuds et des arbustes.
