Job description
Position SummaryReporting to the General Manager the Category Lead oversees the Fasteners Department. Working on the sales floor they provide assistance to customers and work with the Category Manager on product lines. The shifts are Monday - Friday and the salary range is $50000 - $55000 annually plus commission ResponsibilitiesSpecific Ownership and accountability for the Fastener DepartmentWorking on the sales floor (in aisle) to provide Superior Customer ServiceAssist customers with purchases; provide suggestions and recommendations on products. Track orders and follow upBuild strong customer relationships through reliable call backs; follow up on Sales Orders and awareness of project timelines to foresee material needsProject quotes pick orders enter delivery orders and place special ordersWork with Category Manager on assortment to drive salesBuild strong relationships and communication between the sales team vendors and purchasingGeneral housekeeping duties and general stocking of merchandise as requiredEnsure inventory is properly accounted for and controlledOversee and assign work to replenishment members Fasteners DepartmentAssist in keeping product signage/pricing accurateAll other duties as directed by managementSkills and QualificationsBroad knowledge of Building Supplies / Fasteners / Power Tools / Hand ToolsDemonstrated Superior Customer Service SkillsMinimum 2 years sales experienceEffective written and oral communicationStrong computer skillsDetail oriented with disciplined work habitsAbility to work independently or as a teamAble to multitask and prioritizeAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentA positive can-do attitude is essentialAttend and participate in product knowledge training either on-line or in personAttend and participate in PRO Show Events Job Site Events / Scissor Lift experience is an assetPhysical Requirements Standing for extended periods of timeAbility to lift and carry up to Health benefits - including drug coverage practitioner dental vision disability and life savings (pension or other) are - Company discounts (mobile phone etc.) training programs and opportunities for career advancement group events and you feel we are a good fit for your career goals and skillset we invite you to apply and look forward to reviewing your part of the GMS Inc. family of companies you can launch your career with a North American building materials distributor and discover opportunities for growth and value our team members and believe them to be our greatest assets.
