Job description

A Part-Time Supervised Float Therapist is primarily responsible for implementing Applied Behavior Analysis interventions for children and youth with autism spectrum disorder or other learning and development delays and/or maladaptive behaviour.

The role of the Part-Time Supervised Float Therapist is to execute intervention plans developed and supervised by a Registered Behaviour Analyst) to clients in care of Monarch House. The Part-Time Supervised Float Therapist may work within an interdisciplinary team to support skill acquisition and/or decrease maladaptive behaviors while providing an engaging and positive client experience in a fast paced and frequently changing environment. The Part-Time Supervised Float Therapist is primarily responsible for always ensuring adequate client coverage for reasons such as but not limited to absent instructor therapists conflicts due to family or team meetings training workshops lunch coverage and general staff shortages.

Employment setup: Temporary. Part-time.
Duration: June 29 - September 14 2026

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9AM - 7PM

Take an inside look at what you will do each day:

  • Responsible for implementing treatment plans based on best practices.
  • Uses systematic methods and behavioural strategies to support client in changing their behaviour. Contributes to the development of ABA programs established by the BCBA to teach and reinforce a variety of skills for children and youth in a 1:1and/or small group setting.
  • Assists in conducting baseline measurements and other indirect measures as instructed by the Lead Therapist/ BCaBA/BCBA
  • Understand the functions of behavior and responds appropriately and safely when situations arise.
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions and/or routine and provide creative solutions. Responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment for the client.
  • Responsible for tracking client progress through the collection of data and graphing while keeping clients engaged.
  • Responsible to complete incident report in Microsoft Teams as per regional requirements within 24 hours of an incident.
  • Attend regular client-centered team meetings to review client progress problem solve and inform of potential changes.
  • Provide communication updates regarding unusual or different behavior in an organized professional positive and respectful manner to caregivers and BCBA.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting clinical and operational priorities
  • Supports both direct client programming and indirect clinic tasks (e.g. organization materials prep data entry)
  • Experience delivering ABA services in home clinic and/or community settings
  • Supports clinic operations including event planning social programming and health & safety tasks
  • Demonstrates strong accountability reliability and follow-through in both independent and team-based work
