We currently have a role as a Application Support Analyst - Capital Markets Software with our large consulting client, working onsite at a major financial services client in the downtown Montreal area.
Role: Application Support Analyst - Capital Markets Software
Type: Permanent or Contract 40 hrs/week
Location: Hybrid - Downtown Montreal, QC -(roles starts off 5 days in office for 1st 3 months, then turns into hybrid setup 3 days onsite, 2 days from home)
Salary: $75,000 - $78,000 + 9% bonus + 3-5 weeks paid vacation + RRSP contribution + benefits + sick/personal days
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical and functional support for applications used by trading and risk analysts
Act as part of an IT feature team (Development and Support) aligned with a trading desk
Collaborate closely with the Development team to deliver high-quality services and prevent or resolve production incidents
Perform daily production checks before financial markets open to ensure system stability
Manage and prioritize user ticket backlog using Unity
Respond to live production incidents raised directly by users and troubleshoot issues effectively
Apply problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve application issues
Conduct evening checks to ensure production stability before Asian markets open
Continuously learn and apply Production Support best practices
Build financial domain knowledge by working with experienced professionals
REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory
Minimum 3 years of experience as an Application Support Analyst
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Proven track record of delivering continuous improvements and automation
Basic coding ability, including the ability to write SQL queries
Ability to pass a basic coding assessment in a preferred programming language
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of ITIL best practices
Nice to Have
Exposure to trading environments or financial markets
Experience supporting front-office applications
Familiarity with Agile environments
