Senior Business Analyst - Airport Project

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Business Analyst - Airport Project to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world. This position is newly created.

Major Responsibilities

• Application of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge methodology, processes and tools in conjunction with ITM Project Management standards and procedures.
• Elicit and document business requirements via the appropriate methods for each engagement, including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits/observation, business process analysis, and use case scenarios.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal and external clients/customers to analyze, document and validate their information needs and functional requirements and deliver artifacts such as Business Requirements Document, Process Maps, Functional Requirements Document, Requirements Traceability Matrix, Use Cases, UI Wireframes, Functional Specification Document, and Business Cases.
• Serve as the requirements conduit between the stakeholder community (internal and external clients/customers) and the delivery/technical team.
• Manage requirements throughout the project’s lifecycle to ensure adherence to established scope.
• Utilize experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies to the benefit of the company.
• Successfully engage in multiple, simultaneous initiatives which may be at different project lifecycle stages.
• Drive and challenge business units’ assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
• Possess and exhibit strong analytical and requirements management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret client/customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in business, computer science or 3-year college diploma (or related field); CBAP certification and membership in IIBA is preferred.
• 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of continuous business analysis work experience, including Enterprise Analysis, Requirement Management and Planning, Requirement Elicitation & Communication, Requirement Analysis and Documentation, and Solution Assessment and Validation; plus 3 large-sized projects valued over $2 million and lasting at least 18 months.
• Must have a fully satisfactory work performance record in current position, void of discipline and unacceptable attendance that would impact duties.
• Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance.
• Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of BABOK version 2 framework and methodology, familiarity with version 3 is an asset.
• Superior analytical skills enabling the incumbent to analyze overall business need and minute details; strategic implication recognition; provide sound recommendations.
• Efficiently produce high-quality business analysis documentation at appropriate level of detail; experience developing templates and macro documents.
• Understanding of fundamental business principles and best practices.
• Superior ability for multidirectional and cross-functional communication with all internal and external stakeholders; relationship management and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and influencing abilities, including facilitation and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and business process modeling software.
• High level of commitment, attention to detail, and personal organization; ethical and trustworthy behavior.

Additional Information

This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week. Offered rate of compensation is $105,000 to $135,000 per year.
