Position Summary
The Inventory Associate plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with company processes and quality standards. This role works cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Service, and Procurement to investigate discrepancies, manage inventory movements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cycle counts and full inventory audits; investigate, reconcile, and report discrepancies between physical inventory and system records
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support reporting on inventory performance, variances, and trends
- Execute recall procedures and ensure timely and compliant actions
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve inventory-related inquiries and issues
- Monitor product expiry dates and coordinate actions with Customer Service and Procurement to minimize risk and waste
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts) as required
- Manage return-to-vendor (RTV) processes, including debit notes and shipment coordination, to meet financial and operational requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support continuous improvement initiatives within Inventory Control and Operations
- Ensure safe handling of materials and compliance with health and safety standards while operating equipment
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment preferred
- Experience with warehouse systems and Microsoft Office (Excel familiarity preferred)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and willingness to learn new processes and systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on the warehouse floor
- Flexibility to work extended hours based on business needs
Preferred Assets (Nice to Have)
- Experience working in a distribution centre (DC), healthcare, or regulated environment
- Knowledge of inventory systems (e.g., SAP or WMS platforms)
- Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, or quality processes
