Our client, a well-established not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting newcomers and strengthening communities across the Greater Toronto Area, is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has wide breadth of experience and has touched all aspects of HR with future growth potential to take on a Director role.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HRBP will provide strategic and operational HR support to managers and program leaders while contributing to a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.
Compensation Range $80,000 - $90,000
Key Responsibilities HR Partnership & Employee Relations
Partner with leaders to provide practical HR guidance and support.
Coach managers on performance management, attendance, employee relations, and workplace conflict resolution.
Support grievance administration and labour-management activities where applicable.
Assist with workplace investigations and policy interpretation.
Promote inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive workplace practices.
Talent Acquisition & Development
Lead full-cycle recruitment activities from sourcing through onboarding.
Partner with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies and selection processes.
Support employee development, training initiatives, and performance management processes.
Build talent pipelines and support workforce planning initiatives.
HR Programs & Compliance
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, human rights, occupational health and safety, and accessibility requirements.
Support policy development, implementation, and communication.
Maintain accurate HR documentation and records.
Assist with benefits administration and employee engagement initiatives.
Act as payroll backup
Organizational Effectiveness
Support organizational change initiatives and workforce transitions.
Contribute to projects that enhance team effectiveness, collaboration, and employee experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
CHRP or CHRL designation (or working toward completion).
Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience.
Strong employee relations and performance management experience.
Sound knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
Experience within non-profit, social services, community-based organizations, or diverse workforce environments is highly desirable.
