Job description

Req ID:517710

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Digital Solutions Engineer in St Bruno we’re looking for?

Your future role

You'll play a key role in deploying, supporting, and optimising Alstom’s digital solutions, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our operations. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, operations, and maintenance teams), support the deployment of digital solutions, and contribute to data-driven maintenance strategies, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of programming alerts and developing data analysis scripts, but also maintaining dashboards and KPIs to improve reliability and optimise maintenance programmes.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Working closely with engineering teams to deploy, configure, commission, and support hardware and software components of digital solutions within projects.

  • Providing technical support to Operations and Maintenance (O&M) sites for the deployment and operation of digital solutions.

  • Managing the deployment of HealthHub solutions on rolling stock, wayside equipment, and other equipment used in O&M projects.

  • Maintaining and enhancing dashboards, KPIs, and other tools to improve product reliability and optimise maintenance programmes.

  • Developing expertise in predictive maintenance, data analytics, and condition-based maintenance (CBM).

  • Programming alerts and data mining algorithms using Alstom digital tools and contributing to the development of data analysis scripts (Python, R Studio).

  • Participating in the design, development, and validation of end-to-end processes in collaboration with Rolling Stock teams for data acquisition.

  • Supporting projects during the development phase by selecting digital tools that comply with technical and functional requirements defined in specifications.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably railway, electronic, or software engineering), computer science, or a related field, with a strong interest in data analysis.

  • Good knowledge of digital technologies and a strong interest in data analysis or onboard data monitoring systems (CBM).

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R Studio, C++, Java, or VBA.

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of Tableau or Power BI is considered an asset.

  • Proficiency in both French and English (knowledge of a third language is an asset).

  • Strong problem-solving orientation and the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.

  • Knowledge of functional engineering of vehicle systems and/or experience in control and communication systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and build effective relationships across teams and organisations.

  • Knowledge of a language other than French is an asset to facilitate communication with our partners, suppliers, colleagues, and international clients. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.

  • Work with cutting-edge digital solutions for rail maintenance and operations.

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.

  • Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility.

  • Utilise our dynamic and inclusive working environment.

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning.

  • Progress towards roles in digital engineering, data analytics, or system optimisation.

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
