Job descriptionJob Title: UX/UI Design LeadLocation: Montreal, QCDuration: Contract (Onsite)Core responsibilities:1. Lead and manage user experience research activities that respond to project andaudience priorities: -Plan, conduct, analyze, and report on qualitative and quantitative usabilitystudies.Conduct or oversee research reviews, competitor reviews, andbenchmarking exercises to uncover applicable insights for projects.Lead the creation of research artefacts like information architectures,journey maps, storyboards, and data visualizations.2. Define and execute McGill’s digital brand experience:Establish how McGill’s refreshed brand identity will be supported andcommunicated across digital touchpoints.Create or oversee creation of wireframes, mockups, and clickableprototypes that respond to user research, brand identity, and projectrequirements.Plan and execute strategic enhancements to McGill’s centralized sitebuilding platform and digital design system.3. Translate research findings into actionable insights that can be applied bydesigners, developers, team leads, and stakeholders.4. Act as a user advocate and subject matter expert to help identify and exploitopportunities to improve user experience.Skills and experience:Strong expertise in user research methodologies (ex. usability testing, interviews,surveys, visual preference testing, diary studies, and contextual inquiry).Expert proficiency in digital design software(s) such as Sketch (preferred), Figma, orAdobe Xd.Experience managing digital brand experience in a decentralized environment,delivering UX/UI design for complex applications, and/or managing design systems.Demonstrated ability to uncover deep insights and formulate concreterecommendations for design, development, and stakeholder teams.Ability to educate and collaborate with other teams to apply user-focused designprinciples across disciplines.Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.5+ years related experience.
