Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, this role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where teamwork, operational excellence, and safety are at the forefront. The successful candidate will play an integral role in maintaining facility reliability, supporting production objectives, and ensuring the efficient operation of wells, facilities, and pipeline systems.

Work Environment:

  • This position will support Drayton Valley or Rocky Mountain House and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.

  • This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation.

What you’ll do:

  • Safely operate and monitor oil and gas wells, facilities, and related equipment to ensure reliable production and efficient operations.

  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and housekeeping activities to maintain asset integrity and operational reliability.

  • Support and comply with Cenovus Energy’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System and all applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Identify hazards, follow safe work procedures, participate in emergency response activities, and promote a strong safety culture.

  • Complete operational records, incident reporting, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with team members and contractors to support day-to-day field operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Minimum of 5–10 years of oil and gas operations experience, preferably in upstream production and facility operations.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Conventional Operations Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs and a strong commitment to safe work practices.

  • Grade 12 High School Diploma or GED

The following qualifications would be considered assets:

  • Journeyman certification in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Pipefitting.

  • Possession of a 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate or Fired Process Heater Operator ticket.

  • Completion of Gas Process Operations (GPO) or Production Field Operations (PFO) certifications (Levels A, B, C & D or I, II, III & IV).

  • Completion of Oil & Gas Process Operations (OGPO) certifications (Levels 100, 200, 300 & 400 or I, II, III & IV).

We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
