Permanent Full-Time | 40 hours/week

Start Date: September 2026 (with flexibility depending on the candidate)

Who We Are & What We Care About

London Bridge is entering an exciting new chapter—and we’re looking for a thoughtful, values-driven leader to help guide the way.

As one of the largest early years organizations in the region, our team of over 500 employees supports approximately 1,200 families across London, Middlesex, Huron, and Lambton. Together, we are committed to nurturing curious minds and kind hearts—not only in children, but in the educators and teams who support them.

We believe meaningful learning happens in environments where people feel valued, heard, and inspired to grow. Our culture is collaborative and reflective, grounded in continuous learning and courageous leadership. Guided by Ontario’s early years framework and a deep commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, we strive to create spaces where everyone can thrive.

Our commitment to equity, social justice, and environmental responsibility is not an add-on to our work—it is part of how we make decisions every day. We are actively working toward decolonization and embedding equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging into our practices, relationships, and systems. This work is ongoing and, at times, challenging. We are looking for a leader who is willing to stay engaged in that work—someone who approaches it with humility, courage, and a genuine commitment to learning and unlearning alongside our community.

The Kind of Leader We’re Hoping to Meet

You are a relational leader—someone who understands that at the heart of childcare are the connections we build with one another.

You bring both clarity and compassion to your work. You’re comfortable holding complexity, making thoughtful decisions, and leading with intention. You value diverse perspectives, create space for others to contribute, and foster environments where people feel a genuine sense of belonging.

You care deeply about the early years sector and are motivated by the opportunity to strengthen it—for children, for families, and for the educators who make this work possible.

You are also committed to equity and inclusion in practice. You understand that this work requires reflection, curiosity, and a willingness to stay engaged—even when it feels complex. You approach conversations around decolonization, equity, and belonging with openness and care, and you help ensure these values are reflected in everyday decisions.

Most of all, you lead with empathy. You recognize that while our work exists within Ontario’s regulatory and administrative frameworks, every decision we make has a human impact—and that matters.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is the organization’s senior leader, responsible for advancing the mission, ensuring operational excellence, and strengthening London Bridge’s long-term sustainability. You will provide clear strategic direction, oversee programs and operations, and serve as the organization’s primary ambassador.

This role calls for thoughtful leadership and steady stewardship. You will guide a complex, multi-site organization through ongoing transformation in the early years sector, while keeping quality, sustainability, and core values at the center of every decision.

To support a strong and successful transition, the successful candidate will begin in September 2026 and work alongside the current Executive Director through December 2026. This overlap is designed to foster relationship-building, knowledge sharing, and a confident start in the role.

What Will Matter in Your First Chapter

  • Nurturing an inclusive, responsive, and values-driven culture
  • Supporting long-term sustainability and financial resilience
  • Thoughtfully navigating sector changes, including the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care program
  • Strengthening recruitment, retention, and leadership development across the organization
  • Deepening relationships with community partners and contributing to sector leadership

How You’ll Contribute

Strategic & Governance Leadership

You will work closely with the Board of Directors to shape direction, support strong governance, and guide long-term planning.

Organizational Leadership

You will support and inspire a senior leadership team, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and growth.

Financial Stewardship & Operations

You will oversee financial health, resource allocation, and operational excellence—ensuring sustainability while maintaining high-quality programs.

Community Leadership & Advocacy

You will build meaningful relationships with families, partners, and stakeholders, and serve as a thoughtful voice within the broader early years sector.

What You Bring

  • Senior leadership experience in a complex organization (non-profit, education, child care, or community sector preferred)
  • Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors
  • A strong track record of leading through change, growth, and complexity
  • Financial acumen and experience with long‑term planning and sustainability
  • A commitment to developing people, supporting teams, and fostering inclusive workplaces
  • Strength in building relationships, partnerships, and community connections
  • Sound judgment and the ability to lead with clarity in complex or high‑pressure situations
  • Familiarity with Ontario’s child care and early years sector is an asset

Education

  • Post‑secondary degree in a relevant field required
  • Background in early childhood education is an asset
  • Graduate education or additional leadership/governance training is an asset

Other Requirements

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check in accordance with organizational policy
  • Valid Standard First Aid Level C and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain this
  • Must have access to reliable transportation

Why Join Us!

  • Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 annually, aligned with experience
  • Extended Health Care & Dental Benefits
  • Mandatory Defined Registered Retirement Savings Plan – 5% employee contribution and 5% employer
  • Paid Time off – vacation and personal time entitlements
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that supports employee wellness 24/7, 365 days a year
  • Professional learning opportunities (internal and external)

A Final Note

If this resonates with you, we would be glad to learn more about you.
