We are a family of three living part of the year for work in **Schefferville, Quebec**, a remote northern community. We are looking for a warm, mature, reliable, and dedicated full-time live-in nanny to care for our toddler son, will be 3 y.o. We are hoping to find someone interested in a long-term rotational lifestyle, typically involving **5–7 weeks of work followed by 5–7 weeks off**. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys children, nature, simple living, and being meaningfully involved in a family’s daily rhythm. We are not able to offer sponsorship for a work permit, LMIA, or visa process. Applicants must already be legally authorized to work in Canada, either as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid Canadian work permit. The regular daytime schedule is **Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm**. We offer **$1,000 per week** for the regular weekday schedule. Overtime, evening, night, and weekend hours may be required depending on our work schedule. Overtime is part of our reality, and flexibility is essential. These additional hours are paid with extra. Our son is curious, active, affectionate, and bright. He loves being outside, play sports, painting, drawing, helping around the house, reading books, listening to music, playing with educational toys, and learning through real-life activities. He currently speaks mostly English and French. He was exposed to Spanish from a young age, and we are trying to keep this language active for him. We are looking for someone who wants to be truly involved in his daily life, development, education, routines, and learning. This is not only a supervision role. We want someone who is ready to invest in him, support his growth, and become a trusted presence in his life. Our son will likely be homeschooled in the future, so it's important to us this is taken into consideration. Our parenting style is warm, consistent, and focused on learning, autonomy, positive reinforcement, and curiosity. It is inspired by Montessori in many ways. We encourage him to participate in everyday tasks such as clearing his plate, helping with dishes, laundry, cooking, tidying up, and simple household routines. We believe this helps build confidence, independence, responsibility, and practical life skills. Screen time is limited and intentional. His iPad is mainly used for educational activities, always with supervision. Schefferville is a small and remote northern community located in the same area as the Innu and the Naskapi community. In the territory, people speak French, English, Innu and Naskapi ( native indigenous language) Life here is quiet, simple, and very different from living in a large city. It is a great fit for someone who enjoys nature, outdoor time, family life, and a slower pace. It is not the right fit for someone who needs constant access to restaurants, shopping, nightlife, or big-city services. Your main responsibilities will include: * Daily care: meals, dressing, hygiene, naps, bedtime routine, and emotional support * Planning age-appropriate activities that support language, motor skills, autonomy, creativity, emotional development, and early learning * Encouraging outdoor play, reading, music, art, imaginative play, and practical life skills * Preparing healthy meals and snacks * Helping with laundry, dishes, toys, bedroom, play area, and general tidying * Helping with basic household support, including groceries, simple meal preparation, and keeping the home clean and organized We are looking for someone who is: * Warm, patient, attentive, and experienced with toddlers * Genuinely interested in child development and early learning * Calm, mature, emotionally grounded, and consistent * Flexible with irregular hours, overtime, and occasional schedule changes * Independent and comfortable living in a remote northern community * Creative, resourceful, and able to take initiative * Comfortable helping with basic household tasks * Ready to invest in our son and become an important part of his daily life The nanny lives with us in our home in **Schefferville, Quebec**: * Your own private bedroom * Access to a small private sitting/living area * Access to a home with two full bathrooms * Room and board included during your work periods * Food included while living with us during work periods * Air travel to Schefferville from Montreal or Quebec arranged and paid for by us We offer a respectful, family-oriented home environment and are hoping to build a long-term relationship with the right person.
