Scotia Wealth Management Private Banking offers strategic borrowing solutions and customized personal banking support for high-net worth clients. Private Bankers provide the highest level of personalized and attentive service, helping clients meet their financial goals.

Is this program right for you?

There has never been a better time to join Private Banking as a Wealth Management Associate.

The Wealth Management Associate Program is a salaried development program aimed at developing sales and entrepreneurial-minded individuals into a private banking role. The program offers a strong foundation on building core credit underwriting and relationship management skills. We welcome applicants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds who are eager to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives.

Do you have the skills that will help you succeed? – We’d love to work with you if:

  • You're completying a master’s degree by January 2027, or you are a recent graduate with less than 5 years of experience and have developed a passion for helping others achieve their financial goals.

  • You’re excited about building a long‑term career in Credit Advisory

  • You’re naturally curious, thoughtful, and collaborative, and you enjoy solving problems that matter to people.

  • You bring strong relationship‑building skills and enjoy connecting with others.

  • You have strong communication skills—listening, asking great questions, and expressing ideas clearly.

  • You’re adaptable, open to feedback, and motivated to grow.

  • You are organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

  • You’re entrepreneurial‑minded and energized by helping clients navigate important life decisions in a credit advisory capacity

  • You remain positive and resilient when faced with challenges.

  • You have relationship management skills; the ability to build and maintain strong collaborative client and internal/ external partner relationships.

  • You can demonstrate an ability to influence, persuade, and build consensus

Note: You do not need to meet 100% of these criteria to be a strong candidate. We encourage all interested applicants—from all communities—to apply.

What’s in it for you?

  • A comprehensive training and development experience that provides a thorough understanding of Scotiabank’s Private Banking and Wealth Advisory businesses and Total Wealth approach. Your growth is our top priority, and you will be supported through formal web‑based and in‑person training, on‑the‑job learning, educational speaker events, professional development opportunities, and ongoing mentorship throughout the program.

  • Opportunities within the credit advisory businesses to gain exposure as to how these areas apply to an overall wealth strategy for a client’s life.

  • Placement in a Private Banking office to work with wealth teams to gain relevant and practical experience, complementary training, and support to help prepare you to attain licensing requirements associated with transitioning into a Wealth Management role.

  • Ongoing support during the Program through various touch points with the Program Lead, Total Wealth Planning leaders, and your local Manager.

  • A compensation program with competitive salary, opportunities for annual performance incentives based on performance thresholds, a flexible benefits program, and continuing education programs.

How do I apply?

For candidates applying to our new graduate programs, we do not require resumes! We believe in evaluating you through relationships over resumes and are focused on learning about who you are and what you’re interested in to uncover your true potential. Instead, we ask that as part of your application you complete the below:

  1. Complete your PLUM Profile here and save as a screenshot.
  2. Complete a short one-way video interview here.
  3. Apply to the role and when the application asks for your resume, instead upload the screenshot of your PLUM Profile.

In addition to French, the successful candidate must also have sufficient knowledge of English, as the work involves interacting and collaborating regularly with groups and individuals based in Toronto, as well as constantly interacting with other people, including clients, who speak English, locally and elsewhere.
