Job description

Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

Please Note: This is a hybrid position that requires the successful candidate to be onsite at our downtown Toronto office three times per week.

The Role

Global Finance is offering a dynamic 18-month rotation program that puts a small group of internal/ external Managers at the center of high impact deliverables, while supporting a fast-paced, future-focused development journey. While participating in this program, you will have access to personalized skill-building workshops, challenging work opportunities and Executive level mentors that will rapidly accelerate your career development and help you unlock your full potential.

In your first rotation you’ll join the Global Finance Value Creation Office (VCO), a high-impact team that partners across Global Finance to accelerate transformation – solving complex problems, building new capabilities, and delivering measurable business value. Your second rotation is customized to business needs and your experience, skills and aspirations. With opportunities across business and function CFO teams, financial planning, accounting, M&A and Group Treasury teams you are sure to find the challenge and growth you are seeking, before graduating from the program into a full-time role at Scotiabank.

This program is ideal for someone who brings an innovative mindset, rolls up their sleeves, thrives in ambiguity, and sees a future making strategic impact at one of Canada's largest banks.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Support strategic initiatives from diagnostics and planning through execution, delivery, and value realization across Global Finance
  • Contribute to high-priority transformation programs by helping define scope, develop plans, and monitor progress against objectives
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across finance and non-finance teams to support enterprise priorities and drive alignment
  • Conduct analysis and develop insights that inform decision-making and enhance Finance capabilities
  • Help identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, tools, reporting, and ways of working across Global Finance
  • Prepare clear, concise, and insight-driven presentations, reports, and materials for senior leadership audiences
  • Take ownership of ad hoc strategic assignments in fast-paced and often ambiguous environments
  • Build strong working relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders across multiple functions
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in alignment with Scotiabank’s risk appetite, Values, and Code of Conduct

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • 2–5 years of experience in finance, consulting, strategy, transformation, analytics, or project management; internship or co-op experience is also considered
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex issues and generate practical recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information into clear deliverables for senior audiences
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and adapt quickly to changing business needs
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the confidence to work across teams and levels of leadership
  • Familiarity with business intelligence, data visualization, or automation tools is considered an asset
  • Experience or interest in management consulting, corporate strategy, finance transformation, delivery office, or process improvement is an asset

What’s in it for you?

  • A rewarding career path with diverse opportunities for professional development
  • An organization committed to making a difference in our communities – for you and our customers
  • A competitive rewards program includes annual bonus, flexible vacation, personal and sick days, and comprehensive benefits that start on your first day
