Construction Contracts Manager

Location: Burnaby, BC (Hybrid)
Duration: 12-Month Contract

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Construction Contracts Manager to support the management of complex construction and infrastructure contracts within a large-scale project environment.

This role is ideal for a contract management professional with extensive experience overseeing high-value contracts, managing supplier relationships, mitigating commercial risk, and ensuring successful project delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, suppliers, stakeholders, and procurement professionals to maximize contract performance while ensuring compliance, value, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex construction and service contracts throughout their lifecycle.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Identify, assess, and resolve contract-related risks, issues, and disputes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, project stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Provide contract management expertise to support project delivery objectives.
• Review, interpret, and administer contract terms, conditions, amendments, and change orders.
• Monitor contract usage, expenditures, and performance metrics.
• Prepare reports, forecasts, and recommendations related to contract performance and commercial risk.
• Support sourcing initiatives and procurement activities by providing contract management guidance.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, contract requirements, and applicable procurement regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, construction teams, and supply chain professionals to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Law, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 10–12 years of contract management experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering, or industrial environments.
• Demonstrated success managing complex contracts and delivering measurable business value.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial management, and procurement practices.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, in progress or completed.
• World Commerce & Contracting (WCC) certification.
• Experience working within public sector, utility, infrastructure, or government environments.
• Technical background in engineering, construction management, project delivery, or related disciplines.
• Experience supporting large capital projects and multi-disciplinary project teams.
