The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: KINE 3250/HPRO 3250- Human Nutrition (X-listed HPRO 3250/5990 NURS 4800). The course will be offered in the Winter Term, from January 1st, 2027 – April 30th, 2027. NOTE: This is an in-person course with class lectures.
This course focuses on the science of nutrition and the role of nutrition in health. Students will study how the body responds to different nutrients including protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, minerals, and water. Current knowledge and controversies regarding the role of diet in disease and optimal health will be explored.
The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments. The course will be taught using Brightspace (LMS- learning management system) and in-person on the Halifax Campus for the winter term. In addition, the part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparation in advance of the term. The Part time academic may consider offering one to two office hours outside of class time per week.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Graduate degree in Kinesiology, Health Promotion or Recreation and Leisure Studies with demonstrated teaching ability preferred.
