Our global network of Financial Restructuring professionals helps clients develop financial and operational strategies to improve liquidity, credit availability and shareholder return. Our team is fully integrated both within our wider Strategy and Execution practice and our firm as a whole, and our clients reap the benefits of this broad range of knowledge, skills and experience. We work on the basis of creating long-term relationships with our clients and our teams work closely with them to understand their short and long-term goals - being there at every stage to identify problems and recommend and implement solutions that deliver measurable results.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior or Manager based in Halifax or Dieppe, you will be part of the restructuring team helping our clients evaluate capital options, capture greater transaction value and achieve strategic objectives - whether they are buying or selling a distressed asset, restructuring a business, dealing with underperformance, or looking to improve cash management. You will assist in the planning and execution of engagements including performing in-depth analysis of a debtor's financial situation and identifying strategies for dealing with various issues.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Analyzing historical financial results and projections.
  • Modelling three-way financial and cash flow forecasts.
  • Contributing to report writing.
  • Interacting with client staff, bankers and legal counsel to obtain information, report findings and provide
    Instructions.
  • Dealing with creditors and other stakeholders.
  • Participating in acquisitions, divestitures or merger assignments.
  • Synthesizing research information to be used in modeling, competitive analysis, industry analysis, and negotiation support.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations to clients.
  • Manager: assist in aspects of pursuits and proposal development. Contribute to our practice development initiatives, supporting the continued focus on our team as a great place to work.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Senior: CPA certification with two to four years of experience in a professional services firm or other business environment. Willingness to enroll in the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional Qualification Program.
  • Manager: CPA certification with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a professional services firm or other business environment. Completion of or demonstrated progression through the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional Qualification Program.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting and/or related major.
  • Skills in problem solving, situational analysis, creativity, negotiation and decision making.
  • High level of technical competence in conducting financial statement analysis.
  • Advanced financial modelling knowledge and ability to prepare short-term cash flow projections.
  • Ability to prepare high-quality written communication
  • Ability to present in a clear, concise and confident manner to clients and other audiences
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interest in building a business network and participating in business development activities both alone and with other team members.

Ideally, you’ll also be willing to:

  • Sit for the oral board examination to qualify as a Licensed Insolvency Trustee.
  • Embrace the uncertainty and often fluid nature of the work and will have a "roll up the sleeves" attitude and a high level of creative energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work either autonomously or with a team on a number of simultaneous projects.
