Our Client, a fast-growing technology company in downtown Toronto is seeking a hands-on Accounts Receivable /Accounts Payable Associate to support day-to-day accounting operations on a 3-month contract. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic startup environment and can quickly contribute across accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, reconciliations, and financial operations.
As the Accounts Receivable /Accounts Payable Associate you will:
- Support full-cycle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices, manage collections, and apply cash receipts.
- Process vendor invoices, coding, approvals, and payment requests.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with transaction processing activities.
- Perform bank, credit card reconciliations, and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial processing
- Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bookkeeping, accounting support, or a similar finance operations role.
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working in startup, technology, or high-growth environments.
- Comfortable learning and navigating multiple financial systems and applications.
- Experience with the following platforms is considered an asset: Stripe, Zip, Float, Slack, Google Workspace
