Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Buyer/Expeditor to join our Power-Delivery Procurement team. This will be a diversified procurement position within Stantec that requires day-to-day interaction with internal and external clients.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead and/or support development of procurement and contracting plans
Lead and/or support procurement cycle including preparation of RFX packages, clarifications, coordinate evaluation, and facilitate negotiations
Implement project sourcing strategies or related RFX packages
Basic understanding of public sector procurement law and how it relates to RFX procedures
Expediting contract progress and identifying any issues taking timely action to resolve issues and communicate with stakeholders & project teams. This includes expediting submittal documents, fabrication status, and shipping coordination
Coordinate shipping releases and obtaining receiving reports from site
Coordinate inspections as required
Internal and External Client communication.
Assist with regular reporting.
Maintain material management status and tracking.
Maintaining schedule and milestones for procurement deliverables and update the Procurement report for client.
Invoice management and attestation.
Other general project support tasks to complete work, including customer specific requirements.
Ensure codes and standards (both legislated, Stantec, and customer-specific) are being met.
Filing as required.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively, written, spoken and interpersonal.
Strong ability to organize and plan, computer literacy, and time management.
Microsoft Office and Excel.
Strong Skills in Procurement fundamentals: buying and expediting.
Sound understanding of procurement practices and policies.
Ability to multitask, in both capacities of handling multiple clients/jobs/projects.
Must be a self-starter and motivated working under minimal supervision.
Must be growth orientated (both personal, and company growth focused).
Should be willing to receive direction.
Should approach things in a positive manner and be a team player.
Education and Experience
5+ years of experience in sourcing or contract management or equivalent, preferably in a complex environment working in EPC or EPCM projects.
Experience with BC Hydro is considered an asset
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related or technical field such as Supply Chain, Business, Law, Economics, Finance, Engineering, required
Certificate or additional education in Supply Chain Management is considered an asset
Typical office environment working with computers; Stantec offers a flexible work environment (a hybrid model of working in the office and at home).

Pay Range:
• Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$63,800.00 - $92,500.00 Annually
• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$67,600.00 - $98,100.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
