Chief Financial OfficerLocation:Bedford, NS
Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 + benefitsAbout the OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer on behalf of our client in Bedford, NS who will be responsible for overseeing full-cycle accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal financial controls. This role requires a hands-on finance leader who thrives in a project-based environment and can support both strategic decision-making and day-to-day accounting operations.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle accounting functions and oversee all financial operations
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Collaborate with project managers to monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability
  • Ensure contract compliance and proper financial documentation for government-funded work
  • Provide oversight and support to in-house bookkeeping staff (reconciliations, invoicing, and daily accounting functions)
  • Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting procedures
  • Coordinate with external auditors and accounting partners to support audits and year-end activities
  • Manage accounting operations within QuickBooks
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance
What You Can Bring
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience
  • CPA designation
  • Experience managing government contracts and project invoicing
  • Proven experience overseeing full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-pacedenvironment
