1 Permanent Full Time Clinical Informatics and Auditor

Position Information:

The Clinical Informatics Auditor & Support Specialist is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and evaluating the quality, completeness, and integrity of information captured within the electronic health record (EHR) and related information systems. The role supports organizational objectives by promoting effective system utilization, documentation standards, data quality, reporting accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and funding requirements.

Essential Job Functions:
1.Support users in understanding documentation standards, system functionality, and workflow requirements to promote complete and timely record completion.
2. Audit documentation quality, data integrity, and coding consistency for organizational reporting, funding, and quality improvement purposes. Identify discrepancies between documentation elements, coding outputs, and health record data for reporting and data quality purposes.
3. Develop, recommend, and support solutions, workflows, tools, and education related to EHR functionality, documentation standards, and data quality.
4. Participate in the full Electronic Health Record (EHR) system lifecycle, including design, build, testing, implementation, optimization, and production support, while collaborating with vendors, regional partners, and stakeholders to drive system improvements, support workflow redesign, and facilitate the adoption of new functionality and process changes.

Qualifications:
• Four-year University degree with undergraduate studies in a health care/clinically related field. Additional education or training in Clinical Informatics, Health Information Management, Quality Improvement, or related fields is considered an asset.
• Minimum five(5) years of healthcare experience in clinical practice, health information management, clinical informatics, quality improvement, coding, decision support, or related healthcare fields
• Experience with auditing methodologies, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical data analysis.

Skills:
• Knowledge of hospital funding methodologies and the impact of documentation quality on reporting, funding, and performance indicators.
• Knowledge of documentation standards, data quality principles, and privacy and confidentiality legislation.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to navigate and analyze information within hospital electronic health record and clinical information systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively and present audit findings, trends, and recommendations using a Just Culture approach.
• Ability to develop and deliver education related to EHR functionality, documentation standards, workflow optimization, and data quality.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to lead projects, coordinate multidisciplinary initiatives, and manage competing priorities.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related business applications.
• Ability to adapt to evolving healthcare technologies, documentation standards, and organizational requirements.

Salary Range: $52.89/hr - $59.52/hr
