Job Description

We are currently looking for a summer student to join our Market Quality team of Olympus Canada, Inc. in our Richmond Hill, ON office. This summer student assignment will run June through August 2026 (with opportunity work into the fall, if able) at an hourly payrate of $19.00.

The Market Quality and Regulatory Affairs Summer Student will be responsible for filing, maintaining, and updating records to support adverse event reporting and recall activities (end-to-end) in support of the Olympus Global Complaint Handling System and Global Field Corrective Action Process.

Job Duties

  • File, maintain, and update records applicable to the support of the Olympus Global Complaint Handling System and Field Corrective Action/ Recall Records.
  • Assists in the entry, maintenance, and management of recall acknowledgement cases for Canada within SFDC.
  • Assists in the creation of Good Faith Effort(GFE) attempt outreach packages for non-responders tied to launched recalls in Canada.
  • Assists in the reconciliation of outstanding market activities necessary for the timely closure of recall activities in Canada.
  • Documents all communication in compliance with department procedures.
  • Support and maintain the Quality Management System at Olympus Corporations of the Americas.
  • Other assigned tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor management

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college / university during the duration of the summer student program.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills required.
  • The Market Quality and Regulatory Affairs summer student should be familiar with electronic record keeping systems, electronic mailing systems(including but not limited to Outlook), and general record keeping requirements.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination is recommended for employees who are at risk for exposure to blood or other bodily fluids on the job. Service responsibilities include the handling of products and equipment that may have potentially come into contact with blood or bodily fluids. OCI requires that all employees working in areas that may be exposed to this risk, either provide proof of the Twinrix (Hepatitis A and B) vaccination or sign a waiver accepting the possible risk of exposure from not being vaccinated. If you have severe allergies or ever had a severe allergic reaction to a vaccine please seek medical advice before taking this vaccine.

Preferred:

  • Actively working towards or enrolled in an Associate Degree of Science, Engineering, or Scientific discipline, or equivalent knowledge/experience recommended.
  • Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations Canadian Medical Device Regulations (SOR/98-282), FDA Quality System Regulations 21CFR803/820 and ISO 13488/13485 are an asset.

The anticipated starting base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is 19.00/hr plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
