Senior DevOps/Platform Consultant

Position Description:

We are seeking a Senior Platform Consultant to work with an existing team of Application Systems Engineers. This role will be responsible for supporting the modernization and consolidation of our client's IT infrastructure to automate workloads and pursue next-generation innovation. The Senior Platform Engineer will leverage their experience and expertise to develop the strategy, design, and implementation of CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications and large-scale projects hosted in either AWS or Azure. The Senior Platform Consultant will collaborate with multiple IT teams to improve operations and enhance the performance, security, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure.

This is a 6-month term position- Extendable

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Work collaboratively with engineering teams to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for our client.
. Define and document best practices and strategies for application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
. Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements and align with IT strategy.
. Ensure application performance, uptime, and scalability while maintaining high standards for code quality and thoughtful design.
. Guide and coach more junior engineers on the team as they grow their skills and gain experience in cloud engineering.
. Provide technical leadership in the deployment and operational management of cloud solutions.
. Design and maintain the cloud provisioning templates required for building and managing cloud platforms while adhering to our client's security, compliance, and performance standards and policies.
. Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for building and managing cloud-native applications while adhering to our client's security, compliance, and performance standards and policies.
. Design, build, and deploy cloud applications, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics.
. Participate in all aspects of the SDLC for cloud solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance.
. Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
. Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary.
. Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues before they affect business productivity.
. Develop and maintain supporting documentation for all automated processes.
. Work closely with production and non-production environment owners to develop and maintain a role-based workflow that supports segregation of duties.
. Coordinate and lead training and information-sharing meetings with the Cloud Engineering team.
. Oversee and support production deployments during major release activities for components owned by the Cloud Engineering team.
. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on committees related to cloud governance and architecture.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 5-7 years of related IT experience in a Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar roles.
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift and container platform operations.
• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, cloud-native applications, and production platform environments.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience supporting migrations from on-premises OpenShift to Azure Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience working with Azure-based cloud environments.
• Experience with AWS or Google Cloud Platform may be helpful, but this role is primarily focused on Azure.
• Experience supporting enterprise CI/CD, infrastructure automation, container platforms, GitOps workflows, artifact management, and cloud-native application delivery.




CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current hourly range is $31.25–$60.10. This role is an existing vacancy.
