A School Intervention Clinician provides targeted support and assistance within educational settings. Their role involves conducting assessments, developing individualized intervention plans, and implementing strategies to address the specific needs of students with emotional, behavioral, or learning challenges. POSTING DETAILS Position - School Intervention Clinician Team - Associated Professional Location(s) - Varied / To be determined DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Works closely with school district Counselors and Administrators to provide specialized, expert clinical interventions with student's identified needing support outside of school counselling services. Receives referrals with regards to providing specialized clinical assessment, pre-screening and intake planning for Project Resiliency, District Alternate Programs and Community Agencies. Design and implement strategic and prevention interventions relating to: suicide awareness and response, child abuse awareness and response, harassment and mediation services, mental health services, social emotional health and addictions awareness and response. Provides acute crisis intervention and risk assessments with long term planning and follow-up. Participate and deliver best practice development and programming encompassing clinical approaches that align with current student risk criteria and trends. Coordinating and providing clinical oversight and supervision/mentoring of Family Support Workers, Drug and Alcohol Workers and Youth Care Workers. District School consultation and support for future planning in relation to early intervention and prevention. Facilitation of clinical focus groups for critical assessment, prevention and intervention. Family mediation, intervention and parent education operating from an attachment model (aligned with Connect Parent MCFD Curriculum). Case management (tracking or referrals, interventions, discharge, follow-up and longitudinal analysis). Delivery of comprehensive, scheduled follow-ups and reports. Develop and present intervention model/services/strategies at Professional Development Day workshops and Community Conferences. Updating clinical practice based on Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association mandates and guidelines. Attending School Base Team meetings REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS A graduate degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field.A teaching degree is preferred not required.Certified membership/registration or current eligibility for certification/registration as RCCMust be of Indigenous AncestryMust have minimum of 3 years of clinical experienceMust have 5+ years of experience working with Indigenous youth and families in an Outreach capacityHave 5+ years' experience working with youth who are high-risk, and/or have been exploitable to gangsWill require presenting to various groups including Community Partners, District Leadership, and the School BoardDemonstrate strong relationships working with community partners.
