  • External Disclosures - Quarterly and Year-End: Play a key role in the preparation and delivery of quarterly and year-end external disclosures, including entity financial statements, regulatory disclosures, the Appointed Actuary report, and OSFI Life return. Support the coordination and execution of all disclosure deliverables to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and IFRS 17
standards. Analyze and explain liability movements for quarterly and annual reporting cycles, including insurance experience impacts, economic experience, and assumption changes. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all external disclosure materials.

  • Internal Management Reports: Prepare and coordinate internal management reports including CSM (Contractual Service Margin) roll-forward analysis and Risk Adjustment movement analysis. Provide comprehensive explanations of quarterly and year-end movements in key actuarial metrics to support management decision-making and strategic planning.

  • Solid Knowledge: Demonstrate solid knowledge of insurance products, features, and risk across business lines (gained through 5+ years of direct or indirect related work experience).

  • Technical Competency: Possess strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to work on complex actuarial projects in a deadline-oriented environment, particularly during quarterly close and year-end reporting periods.

  • Regulatory & Standards Compliance: Maintain working knowledge of IFRS 17 standards, regulatory compliance requirements, process controls, Life Insurance law, underwriting principles, and life insurance taxation.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Support and work effectively with portfolio actuaries and cross-functional teams through effective partnerships, strong communication skills (oral and written), and the ability to adapt to change and competing priorities.

What do you need to succeed?
