Job Description

The night shift Assembler pieces together mechanical parts and components according to drawings, work instructions, and procedures using hand and power tools. This role performs both subassembly and final assembly operations, conducts basic testing, and ensures each unit meets all quality and production requirements before leaving the work center.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of subassembly and final assembly operations on units of varying shapes and sizes.
  • Follow established methods, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and drawings to complete designated assemblies accurately.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to assemble components and fasten parts.
  • Operate test equipment as required to conduct functional tests on assembled units.
  • Conduct, analyze, and record test results in accordance with procedures.
  • Inspect assembled units to verify they meet all specifications and requirements before leaving the work center.
  • Meet or exceed established production levels while maintaining quality standards.
  • Maintain an organized work area and handle tools and equipment with care.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to address issues that may affect quality or throughput.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience following work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production company.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components.
  • Ability to conduct and record simple tests using test equipment as directed.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure assemblies meet specified requirements.
  • Ability to meet established production targets while maintaining quality.
  • Willingness and ability to work night shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of mechanical assembly experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience assembling products using mechanical fasteners and fixtures.
  • Familiarity with working at multiple assembly workstations within a manufacturing facility.
  • Comfort working in a structured environment with clearly defined procedures and quality standards.

Why Work Here?

The company offers a supportive, team-oriented culture with friendly colleagues and approachable supervisors. After one year of service, including time spent on contract, employees become eligible for a profit-sharing program that contributes approximately 10%—around $10,000 per year—into a registered retirement savings plan, providing a strong long-term financial benefit. The facility is bright, clean, and well maintained, creating a comfortable and professional setting for night shift work.

Work Environment

This role is based in a medium-sized manufacturing facility of over 200,000 square feet that is very clean and brightly lit, with high ceilings and a well-organized layout. The production floor includes six assembly workstations, eight welding cells, a paint booth, and an epoxy mold department with more than ten machines, providing exposure to a broad range of manufacturing processes. The environment supports night shift operations, and lunch breaks are paid; however, employees must remain on-site during lunch while on the night shift. Work involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment at designated assembly stations within a structured, production-oriented setting.
