THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an opportunity for a Head, Practice Management to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver office.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Head, Practice Management plays a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the firm. Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer, this dynamic leader will act as both a functional expert and an inspiring coach, guiding Investment Advisors and their teams in optimizing their practice structures to deliver exceptional client value and drive sustainable growth.

This position is responsible for designing, managing, and facilitating programs that enhance client service, improve operational efficiency, and boost the profitability of advisory practices.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of wealth management operations, a proven ability to implement industry best practices, and a passion for elevating both the client and advisor experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Head, Practice Management holds a critical leadership position, focused on enhancing the efficiency, profitability, and growth of advisory practices within the firm.Key responsibilities include :

  • Advisory Practice Development – Guide Investment Advisors and teams in building and refining their practices, providing them with tools, training, resources, and best practices to drive client value, growth, retention, and profitability.
  • Performance Management and Coaching – Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to advisors, helping them improve their business management skills, sales processes, and client service techniques.
  • Program Design and Implementation - Develop and manage programs and initiatives aimed at improving advisor performance, practice profitability, and client satisfaction. This may include training, technology adoption, and process improvements.
  • Client Service Excellence – Design and implement programs to enhance the client experience, ensuring high-quality service delivery and fostering long-term, trust-based relationships with clients.
  • Operational Efficiency – Oversee the optimization of operational processes to streamline workflows, improve productivity, and ensure best practices are consistently applied across all advisors and advisory teams.
  • Investment Advisor Onboarding – Design, implement, and oversee a seamless and comprehensive onboarding process for new Investment Advisors, ensuring both the advisor and their clients are fully supported during their transition to the firm.
  • Collaboration With Leadership – Work closely with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities, track performance metrics, and ensure that practice management strategies are aligned with broader organizational goals.
  • Reporting – Use data from various sources, generate a comprehensive slate of reports that provides actionable insights into key metrics and performance indicators.
  • Compliance and Risk Management - Ensure that all practice management activities comply with industry regulations and company policies, while minimizing operational risks.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in practice management within the financial services industry, with a focus on wealth management or investment advisory services.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and market trends.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Relevant certifications and licenses are a plus.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology to optimize operational processes and enhance client service delivery.
