The Maintenance Technician (MT) provides response to daily requests logged through the Facilities Service Desk in the capacity of both reactive and planned preventative maintenance in all areas of building operations and services. This includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, air-conditioning equipment and general service calls relating to (but not limited to): door/lock issues, minor carpentry, furniture repair/installation, painting and general building assistance.
The MT works closely to oversee and manage external contractors with a technical skill to perform reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance on equipment as well as general repairs/upgrades. The MT coordinates the timing and completion of contract services to ensure the efficiency of contracted work.
The MT employs responsible and safe workplace practices in accordance with UFV and other regulatory bodies and utilizes a keen eye for detail, combined with solid technical knowledge, to support the smooth operation of university buildings and equipment.
