Conveyor Belt Technician

Conveyor Belt Technician Tomlinson is looking for a Conveyor Belt Technician to work at Ontario Trap Rock in Bruce Mines, ON. This 1,000 acre site located on the shores of Lake Huron contains more than 80 million tons of aggregate known as diabase or trap rock. We are looking for an experienced maintenance professional who can specialize in our conveyor belt operations.

Job Location: 9630 ON-17, Bruce Mines, ON

Vacancy Type: Replacement

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Replacing belting components such as idlers, rollers, pulleys, Vbelts and sheaves etc.

Must be punctual, mechanically inclined and well organized

Troubleshoot and repair belting units.

Identify the root cause of failures and implement a thorough repair solution.

Attention to detail and critical thinking are necessary for this position.

Assisting workers and the Foreman meet maintenance and production goals.

Keeping track of belting materials and inventory needs, documenting all repairs performed each shift and making note of any upcoming repairs required (Preventative Maintenance).

Working alongside others, ensuring they are complying with the OHSA, company policies and procedures.

Ability to perform other general duties around the plant as requested by supervisor

Ability to take the lead on projects around the plant.

Flexibility to work on a various schedule and overtime if required

REQUIREMENTS

3+ years of Conveyor Belt maintenance experience

General mechanical aptitude

Experience working outdoors (cold, heat, noise) in a physically demanding role

Skills such as rigging, cutting, welding, etc. an asset

Eager to learn, willing to work long hours, available for emergency breakdowns

COMPENSATION INFORMATION The expected wage range for this position is $34-36.50 per hour. Placement within that range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
