Library Technician - St. Juan Diego School C.U.P.E. 2357 (10 month, Level 5)

Part‑time 0.50 FTE position

The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) is currently seeking a Library Technician for St. Juan Diego School.

Job Description

Operate the school Learning Commons and provide services in an automated/digital environment to meet the needs of staff and students.

Promote authors, books, literacy, technology and hold special events.

Perform administrative functions associated with the Learning Commons and/or school.

Coordinate volunteers’ activities.

Perform other duties, as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Library Technician, Information Science).

2 years of related experience.

Expertise with Insignia (or similar library software systems), Google Suite, computer hardware and software, mobile technology, and various AV equipment.

Comfortable learning and promoting new technologies (e.g., 3D printing, robotics, coding, cricut).

Positive team player with the ability to work independently.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Benefits and Compensation This is a permanent 10‑month position. The annual full‑time salary range is $49,117 – $52,809, prorated for a 0.50 FTE. An employee benefits and pension package is also provided.

The anticipated start date for this position will be August 24, 2026.
