Job description
1. Age-Specific Care & Routines For the 12-Month-Old Boy: * Managing transitions (introducing table foods/finger foods, moving from bottles to cups). Maintaining a consistent nap schedule (typically 1–2 naps a day). Strict diapering routines and supporting early motor skills (crawling, standing, walking safely). For the 40-Month-Old Girl: Assisting with and reinforcing potty training routines. Managing preschool/playdate drop-offs and pick-ups if applicable. Fostering independence (helping her dress herself, pack away toys, wash hands). 2. Developmental Play & Learning Creating a screen-free environment filled with active play. Infant Milestones: Sensory play, reading aloud, and floor time to build muscle and balance for the 12-month-old. Preschool Milestones: Arts and crafts, puzzles, imaginative role-play, outdoor playground time, and emotional regulation (handling 3-year-old tantrums with patience) for the 40-month-old. 3. Meal Preparation & Nutrition Prepping healthy foods suitable for both stages: soft, bite-sized finger foods for the baby and nutritious, engaging meals/snacks for the 3-year-old. Sterilizing feeding equipment and keeping the children's eating area pristine. 4. Light Nursery Chores Managing the kids' laundry (washing, folding, putting away). Keeping the play areas, children’s bedrooms, and kitchen clean after activities/meals. Tidying up toys at the end of the day to reset the home. 🛠️ Required Skills & Qualifications Managing two under four requires a mix of hard safety certifications and strong emotional intelligence. 1. Essential Hard Skills Dual-Child Management: Proven experience caring for two children of different young ages simultaneously (keeping an eye on a wandering baby while helping a preschooler in the bathroom). Safety Certifications: Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certifications are non-negotiable. Knowledge of choking hazards (critical for a 12-month-old eating solid foods). Toddler Development Expertise: Deep understanding of the psychological and physical milestones of both 1-year-olds and 3-year-olds. 2. Essential Soft Skills High Energy & Physical Stamina: The nanny will be lifting a 12-month-old while chasing a fast-moving 40-month-old. They need the stamina to stay active all day. Patience & Emotional Co-Regulation: 3-year-olds experience big emotions. The nanny must be able to remain calm, gentle, and authoritative during tantrums without yelling or getting frustrated.
