Responsibilities
Deliver animal byproduct (inedible chicken parts) to disposal facilities according to schedules set by Maple Lodge Farms.
Assist the Nutrient team with loading outside takers of poultry fat.
Move trailers of distressed/waste chicken products to the Nutrient plant for disposal and assist with loading/unloading of skids/totes as required.
Complete pre‑trip/post‑trip inspection of vehicle, along with all required paperwork, including everyday vehicle inspection sheet, logbook, and disposal manifests.
Perform preventive maintenance on byproduct equipment such as changing hydraulic fittings, greasing equipment, and reporting any necessary maintenance to the Byproduct Lead Hand.
Support the Property Maintenance team by assisting with building, yard, and property maintenance, including: Repairing
Pothole repair
Resurfacing yard and parking lots (grading)
Replacing
Plowing snow clearing
Salting
Dust control/watering of yard
Picking up garbage
Spraying or cutting down weeds in the yard
Qualifications
Two to three years’ experience required; preferable with experience working with tractor wet lines (hydraulics), dump trailers, and roll‑offs.
Strong understanding of Ministry of Environment regulations related to animal byproduct transportation and disposal.
Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.
Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, Loss Control, etc.
Analytical with problem‑identification and problem‑solving capabilities.
High School Diploma required.
