We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Hybrid Forklift Operator / Shipping & Receiving Associate for one of Ottawa's leading landscaping and construction supply companies. This role combines forklift operation, shipping & receiving, yard support, customer service, and warehouse responsibilities in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong forklift experience, enjoy working outdoors, and be comfortable handling inventory, coordinating shipments, loading/unloading materials, and supporting daily yard operations.

Responsibilities

Arrive 15 minutes before yard opening, dressed in appropriate safety attire including high-visibility clothing and steel-toed boots

Complete daily forklift and equipment inspections

Perform shipping & receiving duties including verifying incoming/outgoing shipments and organizing inventory

Assist with loading and unloading landscaping and construction materials from supplier trucks and customer vehicles

Prepare customer orders and materials for delivery

Maintain accurate inventory and product organization within the yard and warehouse

Ensure delivery trucks and customer vehicles are loaded accurately and safely

Offload supplier deliveries and restock materials throughout the yard and warehouse

Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, warehouse, and outdoor yard spaces

Sort freight and assist with additional warehouse and yard duties as required

Follow all health & safety procedures and company policies

Work collaboratively with team members while being able to work independently when needed

Requirements

Valid forklift certification with a minimum of 2 years of verifiable forklift experience

Previous shipping & receiving experience required

Experience working in a yard, warehouse, or outdoor industrial environment preferred

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently

Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

Strong attention to safety, organization, and detail

Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Team-oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision

Criminal Record Check required during onboarding

Steel-toed boots required
