Metals Recycling Logistics Analyst, Whitby Office
Job Summary:
Perform diversified duties pertaining to maintaining current transportation structures within Gerdau freight system. Responsible for assisting with negotiating proposals and verifying shipping procedures. This position will solicit quotes and maintain rate and freight tracking systems.
Nature and Scope:
The Logistics Analyst coordinates activities with regional area shipping managers, mill shipping supervisors, and accounting personnel. Incumbent will provide logistics information for routine and established accounts to the raw materials group, mill products sales, and other departments as required. This position serves as system wide administrator for freight systems by maintaining the freight rate tracking program, calculating various transportation rates, updating system with changes as required, and communicating between Gerdau shipping departments and information services. Additionally, the incumbent will maintain carrier files and contracts. The incumbent must also possess the ability to process and disseminate large amounts of information, as well as problem solving skills, ability to multitask and customer service skills.
