Job Title: Welder – Afternoons
Job Description
Our Client is seeking an experienced Welder to join the afternoon shift in a modern manufacturing environment. You will perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel components, including pressure-tested vessels and custom enclosures, while interpreting blueprints and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel components to meet production and quality standards.
- Fit and weld stainless steel enclosures of varying shapes and sizes using both MIG and TIG processes.
- Use a robotic welder to complete various bushing welds accurately and efficiently.
- Weld pressure-tested vessels to ensure they meet specifications and are free of leaks.
- Read, interpret, and weld according to blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
- Use both metric and standard measurements to lay out, fit, and verify dimensions of welded assemblies.
- Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment by following proper procedures and safety guidelines.
- Operate supporting fabrication equipment such as grinders, sand belts, ironworkers, and band saws as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop area in accordance with company standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and address any welding or fabrication issues that arise.
Essential Skills
- Proven MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years of TIG welding experience, including work on light gauge materials.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to fit and weld stainless steel enclosures with variable shapes and sizes using both TIG and MIG processes.
- Ability to interpret welding symbols, drawings, and blueprints accurately.
- Experience welding pressure vessels and working with both stainless steel and mild steel.
- Experience operating welding-related equipment, including grinders, sand belts, ironworkers, and band saws.
- Ability to use both metric and standard measurement systems with accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing leak-free, high-quality welds.
- Ability to follow established welding procedures and safety practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift experience and overhead crane operation experience are considered assets.
- Certified Welding Bureau (CWB) welding certificate is preferred; candidates without a current ticket are still welcome.
- Comfort working with robotic welding equipment is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on an afternoon shift in a manufacturing setting.
- Willingness to learn, participate in training, and adapt to new processes and technologies.

Work Environment
This role is based in a modern manufacturing environment within an air-conditioned and heated, state-of-the-art facility. You will work on the afternoon shift, with continental shift work that includes night and day shift premiums and guaranteed overtime on a bi-weekly basis. The position involves regular use of welding equipment, robotic welders, grinders, sand belts, ironworkers, band saws, and standard material handling tools. The shop emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety procedures, providing a stable and well-structured setting for skilled trades professionals.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brampton, ON.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
