We are hiring an Inventory Control Specialist in Brampton, Ontario!
Job Description
This role oversees day-to-day inventory control activities, ensuring accurate stock levels, timely receiving and dispatch of goods, and clear documentation of all stock movements. You will work closely with procurement, shipping, and production teams to maintain inventory integrity, support logistics operations, and help resolve stock issues quickly and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Track, record, and update inventory levels in the system to ensure real-time stock visibility.
- Perform regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain stock accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders to confirm quantities, item descriptions, and quality.
- Label, organize, and store incoming items in designated storage areas to maintain an orderly warehouse.
- Prepare, package, and document outgoing shipments, ensuring all required labels and bills of lading are accurate and complete.
- Maintain detailed records of all stock movements, including receipts, transfers, and shipments.
- Generate inventory reports for management to support planning, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and ensure nonconforming items are identified and segregated.
- Report inventory or quality issues to procurement and other relevant teams for timely resolution.
- Coordinate daily with procurement, shipping, and production teams to align inventory levels with operational needs.
- Assist in resolving stock shortages or overages by investigating root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Work with carriers to coordinate shipments and ensure timely pickup and delivery.
- Generate shipment labels and bills of lading (BOLs) accurately for outbound shipments.
- Operate RF scanners to perform inventory transactions and confirm stock locations.
- Safely operate a counterbalance forklift (CB) to move, load, and unload materials as needed.
- Follow established procedures and safety guidelines while handling materials and operating equipment.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in inventory control and logistics.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with carriers and arranging shipments.
- Proficiency in generating shipment labels and bills of lading (BOLs).
- Hands-on experience using ERP systems for inventory management.
- Proficiency with email and Microsoft Excel for communication and reporting.
- Experience using RF scanners to track and manage inventory.
- Valid counterbalance forklift certification (CB) and safe operating skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with procurement, shipping, and production teams.

Work Environment

The role involves working around mechanical and electrical assemblies and using equipment such as RF scanners and counterbalance forklifts. You should be prepared for a hands-on environment where you may be on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks. Work hours and shifts may align with typical production and warehouse operations, requiring reliability and adherence to safety procedures and site-specific dress and PPE guidelines.
