About The Care Company

The Care Company is a home healthcare company whose purpose is to create A Better Life for Those at Home. We help individuals remain in their homes for as long as they choose, and our real talent is helping people Make Each Day Count.

We are a people-first organization committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered care while continually striving to improve. By joining The Care Company, you will become part of a growing team dedicated to helping individuals live well in their homes and communities.

Position Overview

The Care Company is seeking experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to join our team as Part-Time IV Infusion Nurses supporting clients throughout Oakville, Mississauga, Etobicoke, and Toronto.

This role is ideal for nurses with strong IV insertion skills who are looking for flexible, part-time work in the community. Nurses will support clients receiving infusion therapies in their homes, typically visiting clients once per week over treatment periods lasting two or more weeks.

To maximize scheduling efficiency and continuity of care, successful candidates must have consistent weekday availability and be willing to support multiple clients within a geographic area.

What You'll Do

As an IV Infusion Nurse, you will provide safe, compassionate, and professional infusion therapy services in the client's home environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct pre-treatment nursing assessments and review physician orders and treatment protocols.
  • Initiate peripheral intravenous access using appropriate aseptic technique.
  • Administer prescribed IV infusion therapies in accordance with physician orders and organizational policies.
  • Monitor clients throughout the infusion process and assess for adverse reactions or changes in condition.
  • Provide ongoing client education regarding treatment plans, potential side effects, and when to seek medical attention.
  • Safely disconnect IV therapy upon completion of the infusion.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and client responses accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communicate any client concerns, adverse events, or changes in condition to the appropriate physician, pharmacist, or Care Coordinator.
  • Maintain infection prevention and control standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, physicians, pharmacists, and other members of the healthcare team to support positive outcomes.
  • Function within the limits of your knowledge, experience, and professional scope of practice.

Requirements

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as either an RN or RPN.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency (recent and frequent) with peripheral IV insertion and IV infusion therapy.
  • Strong venipuncture and IV start skills (required).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening completed within the last 12 months.
  • Negative TB test completed within the last 12 months.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, subject to exemptions under the Ontario Human Rights Code.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment in a community setting.
  • Ability to travel throughout Oakville, Mississauga, Etobicoke, and Toronto.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience providing infusion therapy in the home and community setting.
  • Experience administering biologics, specialty medications, antibiotics, hydration therapy, or other infusion treatments.
  • Experience using electronic documentation systems.
  • Strong client education and clinical assessment skills.

Availability Requirements

This is a part-time position.

Successful candidates must have:

  • Regular availability Monday through Friday.
  • Flexibility to support scheduled client visits throughout the week.
  • Ability to maintain continuity of care for assigned clients over the course of their treatment plan.
  • Willingness to travel between client homes within the designated service area.

Benefits

Why Join The Care Company?

  • Flexible part-time scheduling.
  • Competitive compensation ranging from $66.50-$86.50/visit depending on nursing designation (RN/RPN).
  • Meaningful one-on-one client relationships.
  • Supportive clinical leadership and coordination team.
  • Opportunities to expand your community nursing skills.
  • Growing organization focused on quality care and clinical excellence.
  • Work that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of clients and families.
