About the Role:

IMAX is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Installation Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of global theatre system installation operations. This role is responsible for coordinating installation resources, monitoring project execution, supporting field operations, and driving process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

The Installation Coordinator will work closely with installation contractors, technical support teams, product engineers, and department leaders to ensure successful deployment of IMAX theatre systems around the world. This position is ideal for someone with a strong operational mindset, technical aptitude, and a passion for delivering complex technology projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute strategic innovation initiatives, including new product deployments, technology rollouts, and R&D projects within the giant-screen cinema and audiovisual industry

• Coordinate a global network of installation contractors to ensure alignment with project objectives, schedules, and quality standards

• Monitor and report on installation activities across more than 140 global cinema system installations annually

• Track, investigate, and resolve technical issues related to system installations, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions when required

• Support the successful delivery of installations on time and within budget, with a focus on improving quality metrics and reducing overtime costs

• Plan and coordinate resources, budgets, schedules, and staffing requirements to meet project demands

• Develop, maintain, and monitor training materials and operational processes to support high-performance field operations

• Schedule installation technical support supervisors and oversee coverage planning, including 24/7 weekend on-call support rotations

• Collaborate with product engineering teams and operational stakeholders to ensure seamless deployment and support activities

• Prepare reports, monitor key performance indicators, and provide operational updates to leadership

• Provide administrative and operational support to department leaders as needed

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Technology Operations, Project Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred

• Minimum 3 years of experience in operations coordination, technology deployment, installation management, or a similar role within a fast-paced technology environment

• Experience supporting the integration and deployment of complex technical systems

• Knowledge of operations management, organizational effectiveness, budgeting, planning, scheduling, forecasting, and resource management

• Familiarity with business and financial principles

• Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills, with the ability to effectively monitor, analyze, and report on operational and technical metrics

• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience coordinating technical teams, contractors, or field operations personnel

• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail

Nice to Haves

• Ability to read and interpret technical product requirements, schematics, architectural drawings, mechanical drawings, and electrical engineering documentation

• Experience working with product development, engineering, or technical support teams

• Familiarity with audiovisual systems, cinema technologies, or large-scale technology deployments

• Experience supporting global operations or distributed technical teams

• Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for operational excellence and innovation

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche :

$66,161.00 / 66.161,00$ - $82,701.00 / 82.701,00$ (per year / par an) Final pay within this range will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and the geographic location of the role.
