Job Overview
We are seeking a casual Dietary Porter to support a highly motivated team in our LTC home Nutrition Services Program.
The incumbent is responsible for always providing the highest quality of customer service while cleaning food services equipment and delivering food items to meet the needs and expectations of the Kensington Health Centre in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007.
Responsibilities
Washing dishes and pots either by hand or machine.
Sweeping and mopping floors in Food Services areas.
Delivering food and nutrition supplies to different areas of the Facility.
Putting away stock and incoming orders between storage and work areas.
Picking up all catering events throughout the facility.
Cleaning and sanitizing of work tables, walls, refrigerators and kitchen equipment.
All other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, willing to go beyond the basics.
Ability to work under supervision and follow standard procedures.
Compliance with all health and safety standards.
Personal and professional integrity, appearance, and demeanour.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
One (1) year experience with at least one year in a health organization.
Compliance with all health and safety standards.
Knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide, basic MOHLTC nutritional requirements and infection control.
Required Professional Designation/Certificate:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Food Service Worker Certificate.
Food Handler Certificate.
