A Snapshot of Your Day

In your new role you will report to the Americas Head of Compensation & Benefits and will be responsible for the governance, strategy, ongoing management and for overseeing the administration of all and Canadian retirement programs. This role ensures that programs are compliant, well-governed, and aligned with the Company’s retirement strategy. You will be the primary subject matter expert for retirement plans across both countries, partnering closely with HR, Payroll, Legal, Finance, and external vendors.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead the annual strategy reviews for retirement and pension programs, presenting findings and recommendations to leadership on employee financial wellness, retirement readiness, market trends, and program changes to ensure plans remain competitive and cost-effective, while preparing and presenting committee materials for effective oversight and serving as the primary contact for external partners such as plan providers, recordkeepers, trustees, actuaries, and consultants.
  • Your continuous governance oversight will ensure the integrity, compliance, and accuracy of plan processes—including eligibility, enrollment, contribution management, payroll coordination, plan corrections, participant escalations, and the administration and ongoing improvement of North America’s retirement programs such as qualified/non-qualified pensions, savings, deferred compensation (, 401(k)), and Canadian pension/retirement plans (, DCPP, DBPP, RRSP, DPSP, RPP, PRPP).
  • You will establish and maintain strong partnerships with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate funding, reconciliation, and financial reporting, while supporting the execution of plan audits, non-discrimination testing, and annual renewals.
  • Your compliance expertise will ensure all retirement plans adhere to applicable local, federal, provincial/state regulations such as IRS, ERISA, CRA, provincial pension standards, and internal company controls, while continuously monitoring legislative changes in Canada and the to assess their impact on plan design and administration.
  • Manage all required filings, disclosures, audits, and governance activities (, Form 5500, SOC reports, CAP guidelines), while maintaining plan documentation, amendments, and policies in partnership with Legal and external advisors.
  • Support leadership by monitoring service-level performance, resolving issues, conducting periodic vendor reviews, and developing engaging communications to educate employees on retirement benefits, changes, and financial well-being.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with 5–8+ years of progressive experience managing and/or Canadian retirement programs.
  • Strong understanding of ERISA, IRS regulations, Canadian pension/retirement legislation, with Quebec pension experience considered an asset.
  • Experience managing retirement and pensions in a multi-country or multinational, unionized environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of and Canadian retirement plan structures, with the ability to interpret legislation and translate requirements into compliant processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and vendor management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities to simplify complex topics, highly organized with robust project management capabilities, and proven success in cross-functional partnership in a fast-paced environment.

This position is in a French-speaking environment but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
