Dispatch Supervisor

WE ARE HIRING and looking for an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day movement of freight for several of our key customer accounts while providing leadership and support to the dispatch team.

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience quoting and coordinating large transportation projects and demonstrate strong knowledge of LTL pricing, flat deck and step deck equipment specifications, freight dimensions, load planning, routing, and project-based transportation solutions. This individual will be responsible for leading the execution of complex freight movements from initial customer request through final delivery while ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day freight movements for assigned key customer accounts across Canada and the United States
• Supervise and support dispatch operations while providing guidance and leadership to dispatch staff
• Prepare and manage transportation quotations for project freight, specialized transportation, and large customer accounts
• Analyze freight dimensions, weights, and customer requirements to determine appropriate equipment, routing, and pricing strategies
• Coordinate LTL, flat deck, step deck, heavy haul, and specialized freight movements
• Manage transportation projects from quote acceptance through delivery completion
• Work directly with customers to understand project requirements, timelines, and service expectations
• Develop load plans and transportation solutions that maximize operational efficiency and profitability
• Coordinate drivers, carriers, equipment, permits, and routing requirements
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve operational issues, service failures, and customer concerns
• Ensure freight documentation, permits, PODs, and shipment records are completed accurately
• Support billing readiness by ensuring all operational documentation is complete and accurate
• Maintain strong relationships with key customer accounts and provide exceptional customer service
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, customer requirements, and company policies
• Identify opportunities to improve dispatch processes, service levels, and operational performance

Qualifications:

• Minimum five (5) years of trucking and transportation industry experience
• Minimum five (5) years of experience quoting and coordinating large transportation projects
• Demonstrated experience managing freight movements for major customer accounts
• Strong knowledge of LTL pricing methodologies and transportation costing
• Strong understanding of flat deck, step deck, heavy haul, and specialized transportation equipment
• Experience analyzing freight dimensions, weights, load securement requirements, and equipment capacities
• Proven experience developing transportation solutions for project-based freight movements
• Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations and shipping practices
• Oil & Gas industry experience, including OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods), pipe movements, and project freight, is considered a strong asset
• Previous dispatch leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Experience using TruckMate is considered a strong asset
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced transportation environment
