Your new role
The open role is for a Vice President of Construction covering the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The VP of Construction will be responsible for driving the performance and execution of construction across our client's GTA projects. They will focus on the delivery of homes with quality at defined milestones, including 100% on-time customer delivery. They will support and drive process improvement, by leading the way personally and coaching other team members. This includes developing the habits and skills to shift individuals' mindsets towards effective continuous improvement. They will own and manage all construction specific budgets in the GTA Division and continuously be balancing cost decisions with safety, quality and longer-term business performance in mind. Finally, the Vice President of Construction will drive change management initiatives and ensure sustained adoption and implementation.
What you'll need to succeed
The VP of Construction will have at least ten years of experience in low-rise home building, ideally across medium to high-density urban mixed-use projects. They will have a university degree in urban planning, engineering, real estate, architecture or related field. A proven financial acumen with residential development models and an ability to assess the impacts of change, including building and maintaining financial models, is imperative. The VP must have proven leadership capability, including coaching, mentoring and developing teams of up to 50 employees and 5+ direct reports. Advanced analytical thinking with evidence-based decision-making would be ideal. Someone who has high professional standards with strong data integrity, clarity and timeliness and is very modern / forward-thinking.
What you'll get in return
In return, the Vice President of Construction will receive a base salary from $180,000 to $210,000 dependent on experience and a performance bonus. They will receive a car allowance, 407 transponder, fullprehensive benefits and potential additional bonus.
