Job description

Operations Supervisor **SIGN-ON BONUS AVAILABLE**

As the Operations Supervisor, you will provide on‑site operational support, production coordination, and business development support for products manufactured, assembled, tested, and shipped from the Curtiss Wright Nuclear Brantford facility. The role serves as a critical bridge and ensures seamless alignment between Canadian operations and U.S. leadership while serving as a dedicated customer‑facing contact for Canadian opportunities. You will also contribute to optimizing production flow, ensuring quality and compliance standards, and driving customer satisfaction for products assembled and shipped from Brantford.

Location: Brantford, ON

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000

Your Challenge:

  • Act as the primary liaison between Brantford, Ontario manufacturing teams and the operations teams in Brea, California.

  • Coordinate production schedules, material availability, and work orders for Canada‑based assembly and testing.

  • Support daily operational problem‑solving, escalating issues to offsite Curtiss Wright teams as needed.

  • Monitor quality, throughput, and on‑time delivery performance; support corrective actions.

  • Assist with documentation, standard work, and process adherence for Curtiss Wrights Nuclear products built and/or shipped in Canada.

  • Provide weekly operational updates to remote/offsite leadership (capacity, risks, output, customer commitments).

  • Participate in demand planning, and forecasting discussions for Canada‑based production.

  • Coordinate engineering changes, product updates, and configuration requirements with offsite/remote teams in the United States.

  • Support cost analysis, labor estimates, and operational readiness for new product introductions.

  • Contribute to long-term capacity planning and site strategy

  • Serve as the primary Canadian point of contact for customer inquiries, quotes, and opportunity follow‑up.

  • Support the Sales & Business Development Manager with lead qualification, customer visits, and proposal preparation.

  • Provide technical product support and coordinate with remote/virtual engineering team for escalated issues.

  • Track Canadian market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities.

  • Partner with the remote/virtual Operational Excellence Manager to deploy Lean tools and CI initiatives at the Brantford site.

  • Monitor metrics (OTIF, yield, scrap, rework, non-conformances) and implement improvements.

  • Identify waste, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities in production and logistics.

  • Help build a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Support compliance with Canadian regulatory, safety, and export requirements.

  • Assist with supplier coordination or local sourcing initiatives when beneficial.

  • Support with Quality documentation control and work order support.

  • Maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting for both sales and operations.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3–7 years in manufacturing operations, production planning, supply chain, or related field.

  • Experience in customer support, sales coordination, or business development (preferred).

  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of U.S.–Canada trade and logistics regulations (nice to have)

  • Strong understanding of assembly, testing, and quality processes.

  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).

  • Experience working cross‑functionally across multiple sites or business units.

  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across technical and commercial teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; comfort with data and KPIs.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a hybrid operations/commercial role.

  • Self‑starter comfortable working independently at a satellite location.

  • Willingness to engage in cross-border coordination and occasional after-hours communications as needed

  • Knowledge of USMCA/NAFTA cross-border trade and Canadian import/export rules (nice to have)

Preferred Certifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP

  • PMP (nice to have)

  • Knowledge of quality systems (ISO standards, etc.)

  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive) is a plus
