Job description

About WPT Global

Since WPT’s inaugural high-stakes televised poker games in 2003, the brand has symbolized poker prominence. Transitioning from its renowned live events, WPT Global currently pioneers an avant-garde online platform. Our team is a powerhouse of Silicon Valley stalwarts, data virtuosos, and gaming connoisseurs. Our mission is to redefine online poker and gaming experiences for players of all levels—wherever they may be.

The Role

We’re seeking a dynamic and results-driven Poker Country Manager to drive WPT Global’s operations and growth initiatives in Canada. This is a pivotal, remote opportunity to significantly contribute to our market presence, develop and execute strategic initiatives, and ensure WPT Global thrives within the Canadian poker landscape. You will be a key contributor to our Canadian business, focusing on strategy, regulatory adherence, marketing, and business development.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for WPT Global’s poker business in Canada, ensuring alignment with our global objectives and catering to local market nuances.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and initiatives to significantly grow our player base and revenue within the Canadian market.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Canadian federal and provincial regulations related to online gaming and poker, collaborating closely with our legal and compliance teams.
  • Oversee the development and execution of tailored marketing campaigns for the Canadian audience, enhancing WPT Global's brand visibility and engagement within the poker community.
  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including payment providers, media partners, and industry influencers across Canada.
  • Contribute to the Canadian poker budget planning, forecast revenue, and work towards achieving profitability targets.
  • Provide crucial market insights and feedback to our global product development teams, ensuring our offerings are competitive and meet the unique needs of Canadian players.
  • Champion an exceptional player experience for Canadian users, making customer satisfaction and retention top priorities.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Extensive experience (5+ years preferred) working in the online poker industry, with a strong understanding of its unique dynamics, player behaviors, and competitive landscape.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Canadian gaming market, including its regulatory frameworks (federal and provincial), player preferences, and regional nuances.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive initiatives and influence outcomes within cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious business goals.
  • Exceptional strategic planning and execution skills, with a track record of identifying opportunities and delivering measurable results.
  • Strong business development and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify and secure lucrative partnerships.
  • A deep understanding of effective marketing strategies within the online gaming space, specifically for poker.
  • A driven individual with a laser focus on achieving and exceeding performance targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving industry and adapt quickly to changing market conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Native-level fluency in French, particularly for engaging effectively with the Quebec market.
  • Experience navigating specific provincial regulatory bodies (e.g., AGCO, Loto-Québec).
  • A strong personal passion for poker and active participation in the poker community.

💸 Competitive Salary: Based on experience and performance.
📈 Quarterly Performance Reviews: Regular feedback and growth opportunities.
🚀 Bonus Opportunities: For outstanding performance and successful marketing outcomes.
🏡 Fully Remote Role: Work from anywhere in Canada.
🎉 Company Meet-ups: Connect with your global colleagues in person.
💻 Tech Setup Budget: Get the equipment you need to succeed.
