Join One of Canada’s Best Managed Companies!

Site Supervisor – Civil Earthworks
Location: Manitoba - multiple project sites
Reports to: General Superintendent
Department: Projects

At KBL, we do things differently. As Western Canada’s largest environmental waste management company—born in the North and built on resilience—we’ve grown by trusting our people, keeping them safe and backing bold ideas. We're proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies!

We’re looking for a Site Supervisor to support our growing team. The Site Supervisor (Civil Earthworks) will lead on-site crews to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and in compliance with regulations. Leveraging expertise in excavation, grading, hauling, and environmental project work—including landfill gas installation, water works, erosion control, habitat restoration, and stormwater management—this role combines strong leadership with technical know-how to deliver quality results.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain site safety by ensuring all KBL safety policies and procedures are followed.

  • Supervise and direct all site personnel including operators, labourers, surveyors, and subcontractors.

  • Manage and efficiently utilize heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, rock trucks, and compactors.

  • Oversee all civil earthworks activities (excavation, remediation, and civil construction) to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

  • Coordinate closely with the project team to understand technical specifications, follow design drawings, and meet project scope requirements.

Who You Are

  • A professional, safety conscious leader with excellent communication skills

  • 10+ years of experience in Earthworks, 5 at the Supervisory level

What You Need

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract

  • Ability to travel on a frequent basis

  • Valid industry safety tickets (H2S, First Aid, Ground Disturbance and CSTS).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts, involving physical labour

We’re committed to providing a safe, supportive work environment. Reasonable accommodations are available to those who qualify.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Trust & Empowerment: Empowered culture with minimal bureaucracy- just real responsibility, ownership, and the flexibility to do your best work

  • Growth & Agility: We’re entrepreneurial by nature—quick to adapt and deeply invested in your development

  • Care & Commitment: From top-tier benefits (including $3,000 annually for psychological support) to a focus on safety and wellness, we put our people first

  • Meaningful Impact: Your work helps build safer, cleaner communities across Canada and that’s something to be proud of

Why You’ll Love Our Perks

  • Competitive wage, allowances and above-market benefits

  • RRSP matching, Health Care Spending Account, Wellness account, and flexible work options where feasible

  • Paid training and development opportunities, Manager training program, formal Employee Recognition program

We’re Proud of Where We Come From—and Where We’re Going

Founded in the North in 2006 and led by an EY Entrepreneur of the Year, KBL continues to grow with purpose and agility. We share our success with our people and invest in their well-being every step of the way.

KBL is committed to diversity and inclusion. Accommodations are available throughout the recruitment process. Please notify us if you require any.

Preference may be given to Indigenous applicants as per contractual requirements for certain postings. We encourage you to self-identify your Indigenous status and community on your resume if applicable.
