At Scotiabank, we embrace your strengths, ideas, and ambitions. GTB is a fast-growing team with a focus on the Americas, particularly Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and we are seeking top tier talent to complement our organization.

Join a purpose-driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

Purpose
Lead the Commercial Cards sales business by winning new client mandates, deepening existing Commercial Cards relationships, and delivering sustained growth in spend volume and revenue. The role leads the Commercial Cards sales team and is accountable for business development, portfolio performance, and cross-functional execution. The incumbent contributes to the overall success of Global Transaction Banking by executing strategic sales plans in accordance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute the Commercial Cards sales strategy to win new client mandates and accelerate growth across existing client relationships.
  • Lead, coach, and performance-manage the Commercial Cards sales team, setting clear expectations, reinforcing sales discipline, and building a high-performance, inclusive culture.
  • Drive commercial results measured primarily by Commercial Cards spend volume and revenue, with a strong focus on pipeline quality, conversion, portfolio growth, and client retention.
  • Partner closely with Treasury Management Officers, Relationship Managers, Corporate Banking, and other internal stakeholders to originate opportunities, structure client solutions, and deliver compelling sales pitches.
  • Act as the senior Commercial Cards subject matter expert, translating client needs into tailored solutions that strengthen client relationships and create measurable business value.
  • Maintain disciplined execution across the full sales lifecycle, from origination through onboarding and portfolio expansion.
  • Align solution delivery and relationship management to client objectives and commercial outcomes.
  • Identify market trends, competitive developments, and client needs to inform sales priorities, solution innovation, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Oversee risk, compliance, and control requirements relevant to Commercial Cards sales activities, consistent with the Bank’s risk appetite and governance standards.
  • Champion effective collaboration across product, operations, onboarding, risk, legal, and implementation teams to deliver timely execution and sustainable client outcomes.

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Commercial Cards, payments, treasury management, transaction banking, or related corporate banking sales roles, with a demonstrated track record of originating new business and growing existing client relationships.
  • Proven sales leadership experience, including leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams and driving disciplined execution against revenue, spend volume, and client acquisition objectives.
  • Deep knowledge of Commercial Cards products, client use cases, payments flows, and working capital solutions, with the ability to position tailored solutions for complex corporate and institutional clients.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex sales cycles, structuring client mandates, negotiating commercial terms, and partnering across coverage, product, implementation, risk, legal, and operations teams to close and onboard business.
  • Strong strategic, consultative, and solution-oriented sales skills, with the ability to identify client needs, quantify value, and translate business priorities into actionable sales strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience operating effectively in a highly matrixed, cross-functional organization, with strong collaboration and influencing skills across senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of risk, compliance, and control requirements applicable to Commercial Cards and transaction banking sales activities, including client onboarding, KYC, AML/ATF, sanctions, and governance standards.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with credibility to engage clients and internal stakeholders at senior decision-making levels.
  • University degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field preferred; relevant professional designations or certifications are considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours may be required.
  • Domestic and international travel required.
