Job description

About YOU

You’re a passionate Psychologist who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment. You’re excited to work alongside a dynamic inter-professional team to uncover both the strengths and challenges—social, emotional, cognitive, and more—impacting clients and their families. You bring your skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to support real, lasting change. Beyond clinical work, you’re eager to mentor and contribute to the growth of staff and students through supervision and training. Reporting to experienced leadership, you’re ready to grow your practice, make an impact, and be part of a team that’s transforming care with heart and expertise.

About ROCK

ROCK (Reach Out Centre for Kids) is recognized as the number one non-profit employer of choice, leading the way in providing mental health services to children, youth, and families in the Halton region. We are an accredited organization with exemplary standings from Accreditation Canada, reflecting our commitment to high-quality care. Our dynamic and collaborative team is dedicated to achieving our mission and vision, fostering a positive and inclusive environment that mirrors the diversity of the community we serve. At ROCK, we offer various professional development opportunities, company events, and a supportive culture that encourages innovation and growth. ROCK is site certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) a developmentally sensitive, neurobiology-informed approach to clinical problem solving. Our hybrid work model provides flexibility, combining on-site and virtual environments, to best meet the needs of our staff and clients. Join us in making a meaningful impact in mental health care.

The ROLE

As a Psychologist, you will conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, delivering clear, meaningful feedback to clients, families, schools, and partner agencies. You will provide therapeutic services to children and families through individual, group, and family modalities, using evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute psychological insights to case discussions and help develop integrated, collaborative treatment plans that support client and family functioning. This is for a Full-Time permanent position (4 or 5 days per week position available)

You will act as a key liaison with community professionals and programs to ensure coordinated, holistic care. You’ll also play an active role in case coordination, uphold high standards of psychological practice, and support interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition to direct service, you’ll have the opportunity to supervise and mentor psychometrists, practicum students, psychologists in supervised practice, and graduate students in our CPA accredited Psychology Residency Program, contributing to professional development across the team.

Your role will include leading or co-facilitating workshops, offering consultation and educational support to external agencies, and contributing to program evaluation activities in collaboration with the Program Evaluation & Research Coordinator. A commitment to client safety, respect, and client- centered service planning—aligned with the organization’s values—is essential to your success in this role.

Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for a qualified, empathetic individual who possesses the following qualifications and skills.

Education:

Ph.D., or Psy.D., from a recognized university.

Active registration with the College of Psychologists and Behavior Analysts of Ontario

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of prior experience in psychological assessment and clinical treatment of children and youth.

Clinicians registered as a Psychologist in Autonomous or Supervised Practice will be considered.

Additional Requirements:

Access to reliable transportation in alignment with program needs.

Proficient in the use of technology as required of the position, including working in a virtual environment with MAC OS operating systems experience preferred.

The ability to work evenings as required.

Current (within three months) Criminal Reference check with Vulnerable Sector Search and after every three (3) months.

The ability to speak any second language is highly valued.

What will help you succeed:

To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Strong ability to build and maintain positive working relationships within a collaborative team environment.

  • Skill in formulating diagnostic impressions and applying effective, evidence-based intervention strategies.

  • Commitment to staying current with scientific and professional developments, and applying that knowledge to practice.

  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to build rapport with clients and families, providing compassionate, family- focused care.

  • Effective organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills to manage a dynamic caseload.

If you're ready to make a meaningful impact and join a passionate, driven team, we'd love to hear from you.
