THE ROLE


The PR and Media Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting our media outreach efforts and coordinating public relations and media strategies. This position aims to enhance the visibility of our clients within the financial community through effective media engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of the media landscape and excel in communication.






Key Responsibilities:



  • Media Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with financial journalists, analysts, and key media outlets to foster positive coverage and strategic partnerships.



  • Media Inquiries: Manage and respond to media inquiries related to client announcements, financial results, and other investor-related news.



  • Media Monitoring:
    Monitor and analyze media coverage concerning clients, competitors, and market trends to provide actionable insights.



  • Research and Reporting: Assist in conducting research, drafting reports, and preparing media and PR documents.



  • Media Pitches: Draft compelling media pitches that align with client goals and market expectations.



  • News Distribution: Manage the distribution of financial news and updates through appropriate channels to maximize reach and impact.



  • Coverage Tracking: Track and report on media coverage, providing insights on media trends and effectiveness.



  • Strategy Development:
    Assist in developing strategies to enhance media outreach and support investor engagement efforts.





Key Attributes:



  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts.



  • Strong skills in monitoring media inquiries and staying abreast of relevant financial news.



  • Proficient in analyzing media coverage and understanding market trends.



  • Experience in drafting effective media pitches and PR documents.



  • Ability to manage news distribution and track media coverage.



  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to improving media outreach and investor engagement.





Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.



  • Previous internship or co-op experience in public relations or media (preferred but not required).



  • Basic knowledge of media monitoring tools and PR software.



  • Interest in pursuing a career in public relations or media.



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.



  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.



  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.






The candidate for this role will be working remotely as a consultant, based in Canada.
