Job description

(Temporary contract position, 10 hours per week to start)

Established in 2004, we are a tech pioneer offering world-class adult entertainment and games on some of the internet’s safest and most popular platforms. With the support of an international team of dynamic and collaborative innovators, we are on a mission to enable safe user experiences and empower our communities by celebrating diversity, inclusion, and expression — all while maintaining robust trust-and-safety protocols.

We embrace the best of both worlds! Local talent can thrive in our collaborative office space with the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, while remote team members play an integral role in shaping our dynamic culture from afar. We have offices in Montreal (Quebec), Austin (Texas) and Limassol (Cyprus).

*A select number of positions require full-time in office attendance*

If you are an aspiring translation professional who loves to push the boundaries of what is possible, then this might be the role for you. We are a small, close-knit team, looking for someone who can jump in and make an immediate impact.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Verify and approve applications of Japanese volunteer translators;

  • Identify and report mismatches in strings/text

  • Provide the correct translation, and where applicable fix directly via text database

  • Provide context for foreign language defects

  • Work closely with other translation team members

  • Must be dependable and punctual

  • Create and maintain a lexicon, or terminology guide

  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure that translations are true to the original meaning

What you’ll need to be successful:

Must Haves:

  • Must be able to provide accurate idiomatic translations of non-technical material using correct syntax and expression from English to Japanese and vice versa.

  • Mastery of the Japanese language: writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar.

  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, manage multiple deadlines, and unexpected assignments.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Nice to haves:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Translation, Literature, or similar field, or experience as a translator a plus

    • Experience with CAT Tools (Phrase, SDL Trados, memoQ) a plus.

As an equal opportunity employer, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees

In this role you may be exposed to adult content
