Job description

English description follows

//

nesto is on a mission to offer a positive, empowering and transparent property financing experience, simplified from start to finish.

We are a team of technology experts, skilled and caring mortgage specialists, and a diverse marketing team all working towards a common goal: Leading Change in the Mortgage Industry. We are very collaborative and fortunate to have a multidisciplinary team that brings a variety of perspectives.

About the team

We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team and help lead the growth of the team as the Payouts and Discharge Team Lead. If you have a keen eye for detail, a thorough understanding of mortgage processes and a commitment to providing exceptional service, we encourage you to apply and contribute to our success in this essential role.

What you’ll be doing

Lead the day-to-day operations of the Payouts and Discharge team, ensuring efficient delivery of mortgage servicing within designated timelines and service standards.

Provide hands-on coaching, 1:1 feedback, and development support to team members to strengthen knowledge, improve performance, and maintain high service levels.

Oversee workforce management by managing schedules, balancing workloads, and supporting team coverage as needed.

Act as the primary point of contact for escalated issues or errors, investigating and resolving concerns or escalating to management when required.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to support seamless discharge and payout processes.

Contribute to a positive and professional team environment, fostering motivation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Support onboarding and training of new and existing employees, identifying gaps in processes and recommending improvements.

Reconcile monthly invoicing and ensure accuracy across systems and documentation.

Ensure all operations adhere to internal policies, procedures, and industry regulations to mitigate risk and maintain compliance.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role

Who we’re looking for

At least 2 years of experience in residential mortgage servicing, specifically in payouts and discharges or related administration.

A minimum of 2 years’ proven leadership experience managing or coaching a team.

Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.) and internal system applications.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies or issues before they escalate.

A proactive and resourceful mindset — able to take initiative and work independently.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

A leadership style grounded in authenticity, accountability, and integrity.

Comfortable adapting to change and championing process improvements.

Passionate about supporting others and driving team success.
